What is Depression?
Depression can be defined as a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest.
Some symtoms include - but are not limited to - constant feeling of sadness or extreme hoplessness, outburts, feelings of frustration, loss of intrest in activites, change in appetitie or sleep patterns, restlessness, disconnection, slowed process of thinking, feelings of constant guilt, suicidal thoughts or attempts, and unexplained pains such as headaches or cramps.
Depression can be treated with medication, therapy or a combination of the two. Because of the two types of depression - situational and clinical - it requires different methods of treatment.
